Reviews

Last Light of Durin's Day is basically unplayable in Limited. You can't reasonably expect it to get up to six in a game, even if you played it on turn 2. Even if you did, you'd then need a dragon in your deck and to not have drawn it already. Its only saving grace is the fact that you can mountaincycle it if you happen to need an effect like that, but otherwise it's awful.

Roles in each deck

  • Beasts and Burn Filler

Six Mountains have to enter after it is out before you it and put a Dragon card from your hand or library onto the battlefield, which almost never happens in a deck with about eight. The only Dragons it could find here are Smaug, the Great Calamity, Smaug the Magnificent and Desert Were-Worm.

    How to play it

Keep it in the sideboard. If it ends up in your deck, mountaincycle it instead of casting it, paying and discarding it to search your library for a Mountain card and put it into your hand.
