Reviews

The Allure of Power adventure spell here is very good in black/red as the rest of the set doesn't have a similar black spell to a creature and draw some cards. My Precious, despite how iconic that phrase is, is pretty bad by itself. Not that and unblockable aren't incredibly annoying, but it's not worth spending a whole card on it. Fortunately, the adventure spell is worth casting, and then you get The One Ring for free on top.

I've only been happy playing My Precious in decks that can effectively use “Allure of Power”, which means cards like Tidings of War, Stony-Voiced Goblins, Goblin-town Flunkies, etc. The actual equipment can be irritating, but the card itself is a black holethat you may not have time to mess around with in fast games.

How to draft it

Roles in each deck

  • Goblin Army Gets you extra cards

Allure of Power, a , draws two cards for the extra cost of a creature, and this deck's 1/1 Armies make that cost cheap. My Precious, the 3-mana , makes a creature and unblockable for an equip of plus 2 life. Both halves are slow for an attacking deck.

    How to play it

Cast Allure of Power when a creature is about to go anyway, in response to their (even Pinecone Strike, so a trigger still happens) or after blocks when it would die. A Fearsome Goblin Pair this way also 4. My Precious on a big makes it unblockable.
