Reviews

The Dockside Extortionist text here is mostly for Commander, where players often control a bunch of mana rocks and the like. In this Limited format, it might not actually do anything, but against some decks it should be able to create a couple of thanks to all of the equipment lying around. Smaug, Wicked Worm is honestly worth playing as a big creature anyway. Then sometimes, you'll be able to trigger it for extra value, and it'll really start to shine.

Roles in each deck

  • Goblin Army Finisher

In this format the gold rare is a 5-mana 5/5 and little more, about as strong here as the common Smaug, the Great Calamity (57.3%). Its enters ability creates a for each the opponent controls, and each spell cast with Treasure mana draws you a card for 1 life. Don't pass Crude Bent Blade or Pinecone Strike for it.

    How to play it

Against decks such as Dwarves & Equipment or another Goblin Army deck, the add up, and each one spent on a spell draws a card. A different name lets it share the battlefield with Smaug the Magnificent.
