Reviews

So you're telling me I get , but I'm not supposed to use them? Well, as nice as a 6/6 dragon is, I think I'd much rather just spend the Treasures. If you cast The Misty Mountains Cold on turn 3, then you'll have two Treasures by your next turn and could use them to cast a on turn 4! Of course, you could just stockpile them and go for the dragon , or add in Treasures from other sources and get multiple dragons. There's a lot to like with this card and it has a ton of potential if you can build around it in any way.

Pinecone Strike can actually deny your opponent the Dragon ,since The Misty Mountains Cold only makes just enough for it to work. You can offset this risk by including Dori, Bearer of Friends and Long-Bodied Grey Dog in your deck. Be sure to play this saga as soon as possible too, since it's quite slow to get going. The good news though is a 6/6 + 4 mana later (or fodder for cards like Snowslope Hunter) puts in insane work.

How to draft it

Roles in each deck

  • Goblin Army Finisher

Every chapter creates a , and once you control four or more after a chapter, you the and create a 6/6 Dragon . The Treasures also feed Stir Up Trouble, The Sackville-Bagginses and Smaug the Magnificent's attack trigger.

    How to play it

Its first arrives as it enters on turn 3, and each later chapter comes after your draw step. Treasures alone four on chapter IV, your third turn after casting it, and one more from Dori, Bearer of Friends or Smaug the Magnificent brings the Dragon a turn sooner. Pick a plan early, because every Treasure you spend on an early 5- or delays the Dragon, and the Saga is gone after chapter IV either way.
