Bard the Bowman starts out far too small to make much of an impact on the board, so you really have to focus on its ability. It's definitely a powerful one, made easier to trigger by the existence of the mechanic. Getting a couple of triggers out of Bard should help you win a lot of damage races because is one of the most powerful abilities in Limited and you can put it on whatever creature you see fit.
