Reviews

Gandalf, Wandering Wizard really begs the question: “How much mana am I willing to spend to draw three cards?” I'd normally say 11 is too much, but in this case I'll make an exception. What's funny is that as long as you're holding open the 6 mana to shuffle away Gandalf, your opponent can't kill it. If they point at it, they have to pay the cost first and then you can choose just to draw the three cards. Even after all that, Gandalf is still a clunky , so you won't always want it, but there's some sweet potential here for sure.

How to draft it

Roles in each deck

  • Draw Two Threat

This common is a 5-mana 4/5 with 3, and for 6 more mana you shuffle it into your library and draw three cards. That is 11 mana for three cards from a that neither flies nor recruits, slow next to Esgaroth Garrison.

    How to play it

It belongs only in a slow deck. 3 means the opponent's spells and abilities that target it are unless they pay 3 more. With 6 mana open you can answer by shuffling it away for three cards, and drawing three triggers your second-card payoffs on either player's turn.
