speed “bite” spells are exactly what we like to see out of green's common . Especially potent with creatures, Quarrel is just a solid removal spell for whatever green deck you're drafting.

Its lack of besides Quarrel and Troll Negotiations is its greatest weakness, and it leaves green highly vulnerable to black/red and kill spells.

Quarrel: bite spell. Other in response leaves you on the wrong side of a .

How to draft it

One of the 20 cards to memorize. This 2-mana has your creature deal damage equal to its power to one of theirs (a one-sided fight).

Roles in each deck

  • Ferocious Wolves Removal

Your creature deals damage equal to its power and takes none back, at speed. With this deck's big creatures and behind it, that is a kill almost every time.

    How to play it

from Ravening Warg or Attercop means 2 damage is enough for a 6/6, and a pumped Prowler deals 4. Cast it while their mana is , because a spell in response leaves you down two cards for one.

  • Elf Landfall Removal

Quarrel is the deck's best spell. Your creature deals damage equal to its power to theirs and takes none back. This deck's early creatures are small (Wood Elves and Woodland Weavemaster have 1 power), so it is weaker here than in Ferocious Wolves. Make Mirkwood Pathmaker or a creature carrying Thranduil's Company's counters the source, or Attercop, whose makes its 2 damage lethal.

    How to play it

Wait until your creature is safe. If they kill it in response, Quarrel deals no damage and you've lost two cards to their one. They're least able to answer when out, or during your combat once has pumped your creature. While drafting, count your creatures with 3 or more power or so Quarrel always has a source.

  • Beasts and Burn Removal

With a 4-power creature out, Quarrel kills most early drops for 2 mana at speed, and a late Pathmaker or Bombur, Gentle Dreamer handles bigger ones.

    How to play it

Before combat it removes the blocker in your way. After combat a creature that attacked can still be the source, because Quarrel doesn't need it untapped.

  • Patchwork Midrange Removal

Your creature deals damage equal to its power and takes none back, at speed for 2 mana. With Attercop's it kills anything, and Mirkwood Pathmaker's damage grows with your lands. Big partners matter, which is why it wins 58.4% with Ferocious Wolves' large creatures and 55.3% with Elf Landfall's small Elves.

    How to play it

Aim it from your biggest creature or from Attercop, and cast it while they are out, because a spell in response costs you two cards for their one. Early creatures are small, so it is usually a turn 4 or turn 5 play.
