Reviews

Casting this for 1 mana doesn't look very appealing, but the fact that it can be two whole creatures out of one card actually is. The best use of Tidings of War is probably to discard it to a effect of some kind and then get value from the , but either way, this is a solid card that just looks a bit innocuous at first.

One underrated aspect of this mechanic is using 1/1 Goblin as fodder, which will come up often with Tidings of War.

Bolg's Company: for 2 power, but no on turn 2 barring Tidings of War.

How to draft it

Roles in each deck

  • Goblin Army Sets up the plan

For it 1, and lets you cast it again from your for to amass 3. That is two noncreature spells from one card for Bothersome Noisemaker, and a 1/1 on turn 1 or 2 is fodder for Stir Up Trouble and The Sackville-Bagginses.

    How to play it

Cast it early when you have no , so it makes a body, and it back late onto an Army wearing Goblin Plate Mail.

  • Burn and Draw Gets you extra cards

From one card it puts four +1/+1 counters on your , one when you cast it for and three when you it back for .

    How to play it

Discard it whenever something asks for a card, because the 1-mana half is the weak one. With no outlet in hand, cast it on turn 1 for a 1/1 , and it still goes to your for the later.
