Reviews

Getting to on entering is quite nice, but 5 mana is way too much for Esgaroth Garrison. It's a that could be quite big but could also just be a 1/5 or a 2/5, which is far too weak to play at all.

White's commons are really bad in The Hobbit.Magnificent End, Dwarven Shortsword, and Esgaroth Garrison are the only white commons I'm ever happy to play (although Garrison often gets crowded out by other 5s).

How to draft it

Roles in each deck

  • Draw Two Threat

Its power equals the number of creatures you control, itself included, and Soldier keep that count high, so it often attacks as a 4/5 or a 5/5. It recruits as it enters, and a Soldier from that adds 1 to its power right away.

    How to play it

Block with it early and start attacking once your board is wide. One or two copies are enough.

  • Removal Midrange Filler

Its power equals the number of creatures you control, and it has 5 toughness. The often adds a Soldier, so expect this to land as a 3/5 or 4/5 that holds the ground in a long game.

    How to play it

Play it once the board is stable, and discard a spell to the when you can, because the Soldier adds 1 power to the Garrison too. Its power changes as creatures come and go, so count it again during combat.
