Reviews

I think we've gotten used to being able to pay 2 generic mana to search for any basic land these days. Thrór's Map does exactly that, but then it sits in play and lets you use it to improve the quality of the cards in your hand, which makes it a very solid playable for most decks.

You may also have corner case decks Fíli the Pathfinder, which will need to achieve somehow with few to no dwarves.Generically good like Thrór's Map and Goblin Plate Mail are your best bet.

How to draft it

Roles in each deck

  • Draw Two Gets you extra cards

Thrór's Map finds a basic land when it enters, and after that 2 mana and a a card. On a turn when nothing else draws, that loot is your second card. As a it is also one of your pieces for Fíli the Pathfinder.

    How to play it

With no creature, put it down on turn 2, and otherwise whenever you have 2 spare mana. in your main phase before combat so your payoffs trigger first.

  • Removal Control Gets you extra cards

No deck gets more from the Map than this one, because a slow deck has spare mana to with every turn. The basic land it fetches as it enters keeps your land drops coming, and the loots dig for .

    How to play it

Fetch the basic you're short of, usually the second Swamp for Bilbo's Deadly Slice and Gnashing of Teeth. Once the stop finding anything you need, the Map is a fine Stir Up Trouble .
