Reviews
Getting to a into Great Gilded Boat on turn 3 sounds pretty great to me. The fact that it triggers whenever you attack with anything, not just itself, is a huge boon to the card. While it's certainly not broken or a lock to win you a game on its own, it's a very nice value engine and basically any blue deck will be happy to play it.
Another ridiculous rare, although Great Gilded Boat has a slight caveat as a card that's pretty awkward when you're behind.Try to attack as much as possible if you see this card. And if you're piloting it, try not to run it into Stone by Sunlight, Magnificent End, Quarrel, or Bilbo's Deadly Slice if you don't have to. I'm still unsure if I like this one or not; it's definitely at its best on turn 3.
How to draft it
Roles in each deck
Draw Two Gets you extra cards
Attacking with anything recruits, even while the Boat stays home. That happens as you attack, before blockers, so on a turn with no other extra draw it is your second card and Bard the Bowman's counter lands in time for the fight.
How to play it
Learn the Draw Two deckAttack every turn you safely can, even with one creature such as Bilbo, Luckwearer or a . Crew 2 ( creatures with total power 2 or more) only when the Boat has a good attack of its own, because the crew can't block afterwards. Once you fall behind and can't attack, it does nothing, so it is strongest cast on turn 3, before blockers pile up.
Elf Landfall Gets you extra cards
Every time you attack with anything, this Vehicle recruits. You draw a card, then discard a card, and if the discard isn't a land you also get a 1/1 white Human Soldier . Draw Two's cheap attack every turn and get 63.3% out of it. This deck attacks less, so take Thranduil's Company or Dancing from Dark to Dawn over it.
How to play it
Learn the Elf Landfall deckPut it out on turn 3 behind a and attack with something every turn you safely can, even a lone Elf , to get the . Crew 2 means tapping creatures with total power 2, such as two Elf tokens, when you want the 4/4 itself to attack.
Removal Control Gets you extra cards
Each turn you attack, the Boat recruits, so a deck keeps finding spells after its first few are spent. One safe attacker keeps it going, such as Bilbo, Luckwearer or a , while everything else stays home to block. Until it's crewed it isn't a creature, so creature removal can't target it.
How to play it
Learn the Removal Control deckTurn 3 after a is the usual slot. Cast it before combat, and an attack with the 2-drop recruits that same turn. Crew 2 ( creatures with total power 2 or more) only when the 4/4 itself can attack well, because the creatures you tap stay tapped through their turn and can't block.
