Back in Ixalan, there lurked a dangerous dinosaur that took the Limited environment by storm. It was splashable, it had and , and it was also a 5/5. Its name was Charging Monstrosaur. Ever since then, I've always referred back to this whenever big with haste and trample show up, and today is no exception. Large Bear hits incredibly hard right from that first attack, but even gives it the ability to sit back and defend you if it needs to. Better yet, it's the perfect creature to cast on a turn when you were going to swing with everything anyway, and it really should take the opponent by surprise when you do so.

Large Bear: 5-mana, 5-power trampler. The hybrid mana cost means it can come from unusual color pairs like Simic () and Orzhov ().

Yes, this can't fix your mana, but it can get your Large Bear out a turn earlier. The body is nothing to write home about, but a three-mana 1/1 will at least chump block until you can get something better in play.
