About 10 years ago, Valorous Stance was a card that managed to see Constructed play due to its flexibility. It's a situational spell that's pretty much never dead in your hand, because you can also protect one of your creatures. Stone by Sunlight is basically the same card. Although it'll only rarely be able to trade off for more than one card, that flexibility is a big deal and this is likely one of white's best uncommons.
